Hello my name is Carol,

I am a successful clinical entrepreneur, digital health leader, coach and mentor with over 26 years experience in the NHS.  My mission is to support individuals to make career change through design thinking and building on existing strengths.

I have worked with individuals and organisations within the UK and Internationally as a clinical fellow for NHS England and through my research with Stanford University, USA.

As lead for the innovation function at an acute hospital I commercialised nine products, including the first NHS skincare range which won multiple awards and was featured on the BBC One Show.  In 2014 I was listed as one of the top fifty innovators in healthcare by the Hospital Service Journal.

Digital Health

Building on my work implementing digital apps and technology in the NHS (including the DOH Scan4Safety programme) I  successfully completed the ground breaking NHS Digital Academy programme - cohort 1.  The programme was designed to develop digital leaders across the UK healthcare system.   Inspired by the programme I am now an online tutor delivering the programme as part of the University of Edinburgh faculty team.

Coaching and Mentoring

A qualified mentor for the NHSE Clinical Entrepreneurship programme I developed the Pivot coaching and mentoring offer based on my experience and qualitative research.

In 2020 Strengthscope accreditation was added to enhance the programme further.  The programmes through design thinking, provide an opportunity for participants to explore a bespoke approach to their career as an entrepreneur or digital health leader within a safe environment.
